EastEnders icon Patsy Palmer has revealed her husband "doesn't like" cosmetic procedures, as she considers going under the knife.

The 52-year-old actress, known for her role as Bianca Jackson, has candidly spoken about using filler and Botox to make her "feel good". Patsy is even considering going under the knife.

During a conversation with Andy Goldstein and Lisa Snowdon on the We're Not Getting Any Younger podcast, Patsy admitted she is contemplating a lower face lift, which targets the jawline, jowls, and neck.

However, Patsy confessed husband Richard Merkell isn't a fan of her cosmetic enhancements. She explained: "I just want to look a little bit fresh when I look in the mirror, not so tired, I just want to look a little bit like I'm not drooping down. I would go in for the lower lift.

"It's just the neck that gets old. It's all normal things for me now and I don't even care to talk about it, because I know it's so normal as you get older."

Despite her personal stance on cosmetic enhancements, Patsy acknowledged: "It's just for me so I can feel good. My husband doesn't like any of it.

"I tell him I just do a little bit and he tells me, 'You don't have to do anything'. We've been married for 25 years so I don't feel like I need to impress anyone, I'm not out there having to date people."

Currently appearing in Celebrity Big Brother, Patsy reflected on her younger years, admitting she never considered herself "pretty" while growing up in London. It was only in her twenties that she began to focus on her appearance, reports Plymouth Live.

"I really don't think too much about my appearance because I haven't got a very strong opinion of myself," Patsy shared. "You know when your mates were really pretty growing up, I was never the pretty one, I was always the joker, or the one to be out having a laugh with all the boys, I was kind of a little bit of a tomboy.

"I sort of got to my twenties and started to become a little more aware and started to care a little bit more about my appearance. But I always felt like everybody was prettier than me, so when I would see them all caring about make-up, what make-up to buy, they were really into it."

Like many of her EastEnders co-stars, Patsy had a stint on Grange Hill in the 1980s, where she spent two years portraying Natasha. However, it was in 1993 that her career took a significant leap when she landed the role of Bianca Jackson.

In addition to her soap opera work, Patsy has graced a variety of popular reality TV shows, including Strictly Come Dancing, Dancing on Ice, and the Masked Singer.
